About Haiku Poetry

  • Haiku is a form of short poetry from Japan. In American schools, we were taught to write in 3 short lines and count syllables, but haiku is so much more.

Haiku is about connection to nature, capturing that moment when “a small something reminds you of the big something.”

Haiku is all the words worth saying in one breath.

  • Outcomes of this creative exercise includes being present, learning concision (how to distill the whole essence of what you wan to say in 1 breadth), creative confidence, and a simple method for journaling and writing practice to boost wellness.
