Imaginative Storytelling
NYC & virtual creative workshop for team building, culture, DE&I, and communication skills
Great for teams of any size | 60min | Minimum $1000
-
Storytelling is the most ancient art form (predating writing) and the foundation of human civilization and the bedrock of every culture. It’s the most accessible form of human expression and while some people specialize in storytelling, it is an essential skill that can be taught and practiced by everyone.
From the moment we are babies and toddlers, we are surrounded by stories of talking animals. A lot of that imagination and playfulness is lost as we grow up. However, that imagination and playfulness is critical for creativity, lateral thinking, design thinking, and innovation, and we can bring it back with intention and a psychological safe place.
-
Outcomes of this Art of Storytelling Workshop include confidence, presence, effective voice, enhanced communication skills, empathy, and meaningful connection with others.
-
Embark on a guided meditation to imagine a place of your own creation and discover a new character of your own invention!
We’ll explore a process to easily translate what you see to the page and share those stories with each other to uncover unique human expression. Just the right amount of vulnerability and a lot of fun and laughter!
This workshop explores and practices the art of *fictional* storytelling. Our It Factor Workshop uses personal storytelling to edify and build up the team.
-
We believe the art of fictional storytelling breaks down to a few parts:
1) activating the imagination
2) choosing a character
3) building that character
4) telling the story from that character’s point of view
Thus we begin with a short imaginative meditation for finding the character. Everyone will write their short story and share it with each other. Lots of humor, laughter, surprises, and authentic connection will ensue.

By design, everyone’s work will turn out different allowing each person’s unique lens and personality to shine through.
When team members share how they see and interpret things differently and how they approached the task at hand, it results in true empathy and an authentic lasting connection.
Storytelling is perfect for virtual creative team building, DE&I or ERG workshops, and exercises for creativity and innovation.
